Learning obedience is progressive and always starts with shaping the behavior and marking it with a positive reinforcer. Negative reinforcers are sometimes needed to establish leadership, focus, and a path of communication to the correct behavior. We do not believe in continually rewarding a dog with food due to the negative consequences and unreliability associated with it. Your voice and praise should be a considerable motivating factor for your dog. Our training includes frequent conversations with the owner to better read and reward the dog with good timing. As the dog progresses it will continually be challenged to think and problem solve. In time the dog will be able to focus for longer durations while intermittently rewarding the dog for its behavior. Whether you are focused on basic pet obedience or competition training we look forward to meeting with you!
